American Electorate is an excellent summary of the major findings on voting behavior. For my majors and non-majors, their study has many tables and figures that aid in grasping the material rapidly. After this introduction my students are much better prepared to conduct interviews for our community survey and to analyze the election returns by precinct, especially with Latinos comprising more than 40 percent of our county’s voters.
